KOFU, Japan - Hirofumi Nakagomi, mayor of Minami-Alps in Yamanashi Prefecture, receives the news that UNESCO has decided to add Japan's Southern Alps mountain range to its list of biosphere reserves, known as eco parks in Japan, at the city hall around 1 a.m. on June 12, 2014.
