China: Lost Wild Leopard Cat Raised by Domestic Cat in Sichuan

On November 24, 2025, in Liangshan, Sichuan Province, a touching wildlife encounter was captured on video. A tiny wild leopard cat cub, separated from its family, wandered into a farmer’s home and began nursing alongside domestic kittens. As the cub grew rapidly, the mother cat struggled to feed her oversized “baby.” Local forestry officials were later contacted to rescue and care for the leopard cat. Chinese viewers called it “the most adorable case of mistaken motherhood.”
