Three Kurds, Emine Kara, Mir Perwer and Abdurrahman Kizil, were killed in a shooting on rue d'Enghien, in central Paris, on December 23, 2022, by a French suspect who confessed to having a "pathological" hatred for foreigners. On 9 January 2013, a first terrorist attack claimed the lives of three Kurdish militants: Sakine Cansiz, Fidan Dogan and Leyla Saylemez.
