STORY: Arab Games officially kicks off in Algeria DATELINE: July 6, 2023 LENGTH: 00:01:38 LOCATION: Algiers CATEGORY: SPORTS SHOTLIST: 1. various of athletes at the Arab Games 2023 2. various of the opening ceremony STORYLINE: Officially inaugurated by Algerian Prime Minister Ayman Benabderrahmane, the opening ceremony of the Arab Games 2023 took place on Wednesday at the Mohamed-Boudiaf Olympic Complex in upper Algiers. A total of 2,000 athletes representing 21 Arab countries and regions are participating in the games. The games are hosted by five Algerian cities, namely Algiers, Oran, Constantine, Annaba, and Tipaza. The Arab Games serve as a platform for Arab athletes to showcase their talents and compete at the highest level of regional sporting competition. In addition to fostering friendly competition among participating nations, the Games also aim to promote cultural exchange and unity. Xinhua News Agency correspondents reporting from Algiers. (XHTV)
