US: Magnitude 4.3 Earthquake Jolts San Francisco Bay Area

A magnitude 4.3 earthquake struck the San Francisco Bay Area shortly before 3 a.m. Monday, with its epicenter about a mile east of Berkeley. The quake was felt across a wide area, including San Francisco, Sausalito, Santa Rosa, and Santa Cruz. About 23,000 people reported feeling the shaking. No injuries were reported, and damage was minor, including broken windows and fallen merchandise. BART trains experienced delays due to safety inspections. Berkeley also experienced a magnitude 3.0 earthquake later that evening.

In Yaizu’s Fujimori district, a man in his 40s working inside a strawberry greenhouse was injured when it was torn away, suffering facial fractures. He was hospitalized but conscious. Other injuries from broken glass were also reported.
