The positive growth was contributed by all sub-sectors, namely motor vehicles which surged 51 percent, retail trade that jumped 30 percent, and wholesale trade which climbed 13.3 percent, the Department of Statistics Malaysia said in a statement. In terms of volume index, wholesale and retail trade grew 18.4 percent year-on-year to 146 points. The growth was supported by the increase in motor vehicles at 43.9 percent, retail trade at 27.1 percent, and wholesale trade at 3.
