Buraku Liberation League

Japan's Buraku Liberation League holds its 36th national convention in Tokyo on March 2, 1981. The league is a human rights advocacy group dedicated to liberating "burakumin," a minority group historically subject to discrimination in Japan.

OSAKA, Japan, May 29 Kyodo - The National Levelers Association holds its ninth national meeting at a public hall in Osaka, western Japan, on Dec. 5, 1930.
