China: Monkey Walks Into Convenience Store and Steals Bread in Guiyang

On Wednesday, January 14, a monkey walked into a convenience store in Guiyang, Guizhou Province, and helped itself to a packaged bun from the bread section. Appearing familiar with the layout, the monkey was captured on footage eating inside the shop while an employee watched helplessly, seemingly unsure how to deal with the unexpected customer.

China: Cat Accidentally Locked Inside Freezer Caught on Camera

On February 13, 2023, in Songyuan, northeastern China’s Jilin province, a video shows a woman placing items into her refrigerator. While she was arranging the food, a small house cat quietly climbed into the lower freezer drawer beneath the main compartment. Unaware the cat was inside, the woman closed the refrigerator and sat down to check her phone. Moments later, a loud meow from the fridge caught her attention. She rushed back and opened the freezer drawer, where the cat emerged, walking stiffly and unsteadily from the cold. The clip ends as the cat moves away, leaving the open drawer and empty freezer behind.

China: Trees Seem Lush in Winter, Revealed to Be Covered in Birds

On December 15, 2025, in Xuzhou, eastern China’s Jiangsu province, a video showed several trees that looked unusually lush for winter. From a distance, their branches appeared thick with leaves, even though most nearby trees were bare. As the camera moved closer, the “leaves” were revealed to be small, round birds packed tightly along the branches. They filled almost every twig, giving the trees a dense, full appearance. Occasionally, a few birds shifted or fluttered, but the overall outline remained like a giant canopy. Webb’s new view of the Red Spider Nebula reveals for the first time the full extent of the nebula’s outstretched lobes, which form the ‘legs’ of the spider. These lobes, shown in blue, are traced by light emitted from H2 molecules, which contain two hydrogen atoms bonded together. Stretching over the entirety of NIRCam’s field of view, these lobes are shown to be closed, bubble-like structures that each extend about 3 light-years.
