The Butaro Level II Teaching Hospital, which was expanded from 150 beds to 256 beds, now features upgraded emergency, intensive care, imaging, and oncology facilities. The hospital catered to a population of almost 350,000 before the renovation and expansion. With the hospital's capacity now increased, however, it will be better equipped to accommodate the growing population and function as a teaching facility for health professionals fr

TOKYO, Japan - An elderly resident at Yokodaikita housing complex in Yokohama checks for information on various local events on his television screen while watching the usual TV programs in March 2014. The datacasting system via Internet, catered specifically for residents of the housing complex, is currently in trial to help check on safety of elderly residents when they do not watch TV for a certain period of time.

Morooka Matsu’s Volga Restaurant

The restaurant Volga was managed by Morooka Matsu and located at Shiga-no-Hatowariishi in Inasa. This restaurant catered to Russians. This is the area of the road in present-day Asahi-machi leading to Asahi-Ohashi bridge. In the Edo Period, the area on the western side of Nagasaki Harbour was the village of Urakamifuchi. The Shiga family served as the village headman for generations. This wharf was built by the family. A Russian officer's club was also located here.
