Italy: Violence Erupts at Milan Pro-Gaza Protest, Dozens Injured, Arrests Made

A pro-Palestine protest in Milan on Monday, September 22, turned violent upon reaching Centrale station. While the march began peacefully with tens of thousands of participants, a small group of masked agitators attacked police, breaking glass, throwing objects, and even using fire hoses against officers. Around 60 police officers were injured, 23 requiring hospitalization, and eight protesters were detained. The violence disrupted train services for hours. Similar tensions occurred in Brescia, Torino, Bologna, and Marghera, with arrests and clashes reported. Authorities and politicians condemned the violence as unjustifiable and unrelated to the solidarity message of the protest.
