The Great Wall built during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) encounters the Yellow River at Laoniuwan Village in Pianguan County. Lyu Chenggui, 58, a native of Laoniuwan Village, enjoys renown for his enthusiasm for the Great Wall. He has developed a keen interest in the Great Wall since his youth. Driven by curiosity, Lyu not only visits the Great Wall and takes photos of it, but also studies it in depth. Lyu has continuously put forward suggestions for protecting and developing the Great Wall and has made it his career. Under his suggestions, Laoniuwan Village has developed its rural tourism industry with a cohesion of the Great Wall and the Yellow River.
