US: Fast-Moving Hawk Fire Threatens Nearly 1,000 Homes Near Reno 3

The Hawk Fire has burned more than 13,000 acres in Washoe County, Nevada, near Reno, prompting evacuation orders and warnings for nearly 90,000 residents as of Sunday, August 23. The fire has pushed toward the center of Reno, with its "GO NOW" evacuation zone reaching the edge of the University of Nevada campus. Authorities confirmed three civilians and three first responders were injured, and Gov. Joe Lombardo has declared a state of emergency for Washoe County as officials investigate the human-caused blaze.
