GM, Suzuki to produce new vehicle in fall

TOKYO, Japan - Photo shows an illustration of the Chevrolet Cruze, the first passenger vehicle General Motors Corp. (GM) of the United States will start producing this fall at a Japanese plant of Suzuki Motor Corp. for the Asia Pacific market. The vehicle with a 1.3- or 1.5-liter engine will hit the Japanese market by the end of this year and GM plans to start exporting it to Australia early next year.

Suzuki exports Chevrolet Cruze car it developed for GM

TOKYO, Japan - Suzuki Motor Corp. said on May 10 it shipped to Australia a first batch of 1.5-liter Chevrolet Cruze compact cars it developed for General Motors Corp. (GM). The Chevrolet Cruze, developed in line with GM's strategy for the Asian region, will be marketed in Australia under the Holden Cruze brand through a network of dealerships run by automaker Holden Ltd., a GM subsidiary in the country. It aims to sell 5,000 units a year.
