Konev, Czech followers of the nationalist Night Wolves motorcycle club, Prague, motorbike riders, flag

Czech followers of the nationalist Night Wolves motorcycle club, known for its close relation to President Vladimir Putin, paid homage to the Soviet soldiers who had fallen in WWII in Prague, Czech Republic, May 8, 2020.The Night Wolves had to suspend their annual ride from Moscow to Berlin this year over the coronavirus pandemic. The crossing of Czech borders has been restricted since the second half of March to curb the coronavirus epidemic. Therefore the followers of the Night Wolves organised rides in the country without Russians. Jaroslav Foldyna, former Social Democrat (CSSD) who joined the far-right Freedom and Direct Democracy (SPD), centre, speaks about the recent removal of Soviet Marshal Ivan Konev's statue from a square in Prague 6 where it was installed in 1980 to mark Konev's contribution to the liberation of Prague.
