Princess Of Asturias Awards - Oviedo

★Princess of Asturias Leonor de Borbón presents the award to Lucy Lake, director of Camfed, during the 2021 Princess of Asturias Awards Ceremony at the Campoamor Theatre, October 22, 2021, in Oviedo, Asturias, Spain. This edition, which takes place with a capacity limited to 60 percent, is marked by the recognition of seven scientists for their efforts in the development in record time of some of the vaccines against Covid-19. In addition to recognising the role of science with the Princess of Asturias Award for Technical and Scientific Research, a diploma will also be presented to a feminist journalist and writer; a chef and businessman; and a Paralympic swimmer. Also receiving a diploma will be journalist and feminist writer Gloria Steinem (Communication and Humanities), chef, businessman and philanthropist José Andrés (Concord) and Paralympic swimmer Teresa Perales ((Sports).
