Mount Kanlaon volcano in the central Philippines erupted on Friday evening, October 24, sending a plume 2 kilometers high and causing volcanic ash to fall in nearby areas. The volcano remains at an alert level 2, preventing access to the 4-kilometer permanent danger zone surrounding the crater.
