'Captain Tsubasa' cafes open in Tokyo

TOKYO, Japan - Yoichi Takahashi (L), cartoonist of the longtime seller football-themed manga "Captain Tsubasa," appears at an event marking the opening of "Captain Tsubasa caf" in Tokyo on June 3, 2014. Two cafes at separate locations in Tokyo are open from June 4 through July 6.

'Captain Tsubasa' creator stands by statue of Taro Misaki

TOKYO, Japan - Yoichi Takahashi, creator of the popular "Captain Tsubasa" manga series, stands by a newly completed statue of Taro Misaki, a teammate of main character Tsubasa Ozora in the football manga and anime series, in Tokyo's Katsushika Ward on March 16, 2014. It is one of the seven "Captain Tsubasa" statues erected in the ward, where Takahashi lives.
