A smart stereo garage for commercial vehicles was constructed and put into use recently at Yantai Port in east China's Shandong Province. It is the first of its kind that has been built at a port in China. Covering an area of 13,000 square meters, the stereo garage is capable of accommodating more than 3,000 commercial vehicles, a capacity increased by more than 3 times compared with plane storage. Equipped with intelligent system and photovoltaic facility, it can complete intelligent arrangement, scheduling and transferring with self-sufficiency in electricity and zero carbon emission. TOKYO, Japan - Clarion Co. said Nov. 25 it will launch a car-mounted personal computer (PC) system, CADIAS, on the domestic market Dec. 1. The product is based on Windows CE for Automotives and incorporates a car navigation system, car stereo and DVD player. The PC can be connected to the Internet via mobile phones or personal handy phone systems, enabling a driver to download maps and traffic information while operating the car, the company said.
