A fast-moving wildfire destroyed two homes and damaged another in La Habra Heights, California, on Monday afternoon, September 14, as hundreds of firefighters battled the flames from the ground and air after it raced up a steep hillside toward homes on Casolera Drive. By evening, forward progress on the 17.2-acre Palos Fire had been stopped and it was 41% contained, with evacuation orders and warnings for the area lifted.
