Chanting In Support of Sumud Flotilla - Spain

Dozens of people during a pot-banging in support of the Sumud Flotilla on its way to Gaza, at the headquarters of the Government Delegation, on September 18, 2025, in Ceuta, Spain. Ceuta lived a new protest in solidarity with Palestine, organized by the political formation Ceuta Ya! which brought together hundreds of people who rang pots and pans and chanted slogans against Israel to denounce the blockade of Gaza and support the Freedom Flotilla, which departed weeks ago from Barcelona with humanitarian aid. During the event, a manifesto was read, accusing Israel of committing genocide and citing United Nations figures that warn of a much higher death toll than officially recognized. The fog this early morning has led to an increase in attempts at irregular entry after several nights of greater calm in which only one child entered last August 14. The newly arrived minors will be taken care of by the Autonomous City, whose reception resources have been saturated for months. Photo by Antonio Sempere/Europa Press/ABACAPRESS.COM

Over 30 Intercepted Trying to Reach Ceuta Coast - Spain

Two people pick up a migrant who did not want to be rescued, on August 12, 2025, in Ceuta (Spain). One of the young men tried to evade capture by swimming and disregarding the agents' orders to stop. In the face of his resistance, the agents decided to leave the intercepted persons on the beach and return for him to be rescued and taken back to the Moroccan maritime base. The action is part of the joint device that Morocco and Spain maintain to contain the attempts of entry by sea to Ceuta. This operation includes coordinated patrols, exchange of information in real time and rescues in waters close to the border, with the aim of stopping both swimming crossings and those carried out in small boats. A boat tries to enter Ceuta, on August 9, 2025, in Ceuta, Spain. During the last week, hundreds of people have tried to cross into Ceuta, taking advantage of the fog, from Moroccan towns near El Tarajal. In the early hours of Friday morning, fourteen people managed to reach Ceuta, among them three women, one with a disability. The migratory pressure has increased in recent days, with constant attempts both by sea and by the breakwater and a strong reinforcement of border surveillance.
