Mass Electrical Outage - Spain

Dozens of people wait at the Atocha-Almudena Grandes station on April 29, 2025, in Madrid (Spain). Spain is gradually returning to normal after yesterday's 12:30 a.m. power blackout, which also hit Portugal and part of France. One day later, classes in schools in the Community of Madrid have been suspended and rail traffic has returned to the country with 99.9% of the electricity supply. Train stations such as Atocha and Chamartin have remained open all night for passengers who have not been able to return to their destinations. Photo by Carlos Luján / Europa Press/ABACAPRESS.COM
