Recap: M7.7 Earthquake Rocks Bangkok, Causing Damage and Deaths

On Friday, March 28, a magnitude 7.7 earthquake with an epicenter in central Myanmar rocked Bangkok, causing significant damage and resulting in casualties. Videos shared on social media show swimming pool water cascading from skyscrapers across the capital. The earthquake caused the collapse of a 33-story building under construction near Chatuchak Weekend Market, killing at least 17 people.

A magnitude 7.7 earthquake with an epicenter in neighboring Myanmar hit Bangkok on Friday, March 28, causing some buildings to collapse. A high-rise under construction collapsed in the Chatuchak neighborhood. According to reports, at least 19 died and 50 were injured.
