Three people were killed after a man carried out a knife attack using smoke grenades in central Taipei on Friday, December 19. The suspect reportedly threw smoke grenades inside Taipei Main Station and stabbed passersby. He then fled the scene, traveled to nearby Zhongshan Station, and attacked pedestrians again before entering a department store. The 27-year-old suspect later died after jumping from the department store.

Japan: Protesters Gather Near Israeli Embassy on Second Anniversary of Hamas Attacks

On October 7, gatherings were held in Tokyo and other locations across Japan on the second anniversary of Hamas’s attacks on Israel. In Tokyo, several hundred activists assembled near the Israeli embassy, denouncing what they described as large-scale killings by Israel. They attempted to approach the embassy, but were pushed back by police officers enforcing a cordon.

US: ICE Stop Turns Deadly, Suspect Shot by Officer in Franklin Park, Illinois

On Friday, September 12, in Franklin Park, west of Chicago, an ICE officer was severely injured and a suspect, identified as Silverio Villegas-Gonzalez — an undocumented immigrant with a prior reckless driving charge — was killed after allegedly resisting arrest and dragging the officer with his car during a vehicle stop. The officer fired shots, and Villegas-Gonzalez later died at a hospital. The incident prompted a large law enforcement response and road closures, while immigrant rights groups and Illinois Governor JB Pritzker called for transparency and accountability, voicing concern and criticism over ICE operations in the area.
