Japanese piano tuner restores world's oldest surviving piano

TOKYO, Japan - Japanese piano tuner Nobuo Yamamoto stands beside the world's oldest surviving piano, which he completed restoring last year. Yamamoto, from Sakai, Osaka Prefecture, worked on restoring the piano, made by Bartolomeo Cristofori in the early 18th century, for three years. He is scheduled to hold a concert in Italy's Tesero and Cavalese starting May 28, and an exhibition at a gathering of European piano manufacturers to be held in Europe, including Italy.
