AMAGASAKI, Japan - Haiku poet Daiyu Kiwari writes a poem in Amagasaki, Hyogo Prefecture, on May 3, to pray for Tomohiro Kojiri, an Asahi Shimbun reporter fatally shot in 1987 by a suspected right-wing extremist at the newspaper's bureau in Nishinomiya in the prefecture.

Daiyuzan saijoji temple

A photo taken at Saijoji Temple, Mt. Daiyu (located in present-day Minami Ashigara City). Priests, chigo (children in a Buddhist procession) and donated bells are seen in the photo. The tengu (long-nosed goblin) is the symbol of Mt. Daiyu. This statue does not exist at present, probably due to contribution to the government during World WarⅡ. This photo may date back to the mid-Meiji era. Daiyu Hoden (main hall), Kofukuji Temple

The Main Hall of Tomeizan Kofukuji Temple (64 Tera-machi, Nagasaki City), known popularly as Nanking Temple. The temple was founded by the Chinese priest Zhenyuan from Fuliang Prefecture, Jiangxi Province. The Dharma Hall, temple gate and sutra repository were built by the second-generation priest Mozi Ruting in 1641.
