Canon unveils new lineup of digital cameras

TOKYO, Japan - Japanese actor Ken Watanabe shows off a new Canon Inc. single-lens reflex camera model at a press conference in Tokyo on Aug. 20. The company unveiled a new lineup of digital cameras including the EOS 40D single-lens reflex camera model targeted at advanced amateur photographers, amid intensifying competition with its main rival Nikon Corp.

The Earth Observation Satellite (EOS-02) and the AzadiSAT (Independence Satellite) developed by school students, were put into orbit, but the "orbit achieved was less than expected," said the ISRO. The AzadiSAT is a CubeSat developed by 750 girl students to mark the 75th anniversary of India's independence on Aug. 15, according to media reports.
