WHISTLER, Canada - Canada's Kaillie Humphries and Heather Moyse slide to victory and the gold medal in the women's bobsleigh at the Vancouver Olympics at Whistler Sliding Center in Whistler, north of Vancouver, on Feb. 24, 2010. Humphries and Moyse finished in 3 minutes, 32.28 seconds to edge compatriots Helen Upperton and Shelley-Ann Brown by 0.85, with Americans Erin Pac and Elana Meyers 0.27 second behind for bronze.

Olympic medal favorite Takahashi wins Sapporo half-marathon

SAPPORO, Japan - Olympic gold medal favorite Naoko Takahashi warms up for the Sydney Games with an impressive run on July 2 while coasting to victory in the Sapporo international half-marathon. Takahashi, the Japanese record holder in women's marathon, ran alone for much of the 21.0975-kilometer race and crossed the line at Maruyama stadium in 1 hour, 9 minutes, 10 seconds for a 43-second victory over runner-up Elana Meyer of South Africa.
