MANILA, Philippines - The justice committee of the Philippines' House of Representatives is in session Nov. 6 to consider an impeachment complaint against President Joseph Estrada. The committee endorsed the complaint to the full lower chamber, which could send the articles of impeachment to the Senate as early as next week.

U.N. observers group endorses Cambodia's general election

Sven Linder (R), spokesman of the U.N.-coordinated Joint International Observer Group (JIOG), announces in a press conference late July 27 in Phnom Penh that it believes the vote and the counting of Cambodia's general election had been sufficiently free and fair to reflect the will of the people. JIOG is the main foreign observer group for the July 26 election.
