"One person sustained injury due to a blast that happened next to the Esteqlal Hotel today," Zadran said on his Twitter account. The officer also noted that security personnel have reached the area to investigate the incident. According to eyewitnesses, the blast took place at around 3:30 p.m. local time when a gathering was underway in the Esteqlal Hotel, which is located along the main road leading to the Kabul international airport.
