France: Woman Skis Through Paris Streets Following Heavy Snowstorm

The video shows a woman skiing through the streets of Paris on Wednesday, January 7. Paris was hit by a heavy snowstorm earlier this week, prompting French weather authorities to maintain an orange alert for snow and ice. Around 5 cm of snow fell across the capital, bringing some of the coldest temperatures in eight years and causing transport disruptions. The snowfall also drew residents and tourists into streets and parks, including the Montmartre area, where people were seen skiing and enjoying the rare winter scenes.

US: Paratrooper Tangled in Field Goal Net at Armed Forces Bowl

A paratrooper became tangled in the field goal net and fell on Friday, January 2, while entering Amon G. Carter Stadium ahead of the Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth, but walked away without injuries and no one on the field was hurt.

Spain: Torrential Rains Trigger Severe Flooding in Cártama, Málaga

In Cártama, in Málaga’s Guadalhorce Valley, torrential rain caused flooding on Saturday evening, December 27. The rapidly rising Guadalhorce River flooded streets and homes in the Aljaima, Doña Ana and Estación de Cártama districts, forcing residents to stay on alert overnight and take measures to protect their properties. Some residents were relocated after their homes were inundated. The river reached a record level overnight, peaking at 5.7 meters with a flow of more than 1,000 cubic meters per second, triggering a red alert. Water levels fell by more than 60 percent by Sunday morning, easing conditions locally, although yellow alerts remain in place upstream. Several other rivers in the province also saw rising levels but have since moved out of danger thresholds as emergency services and residents work to return to normal.

Taiwan: Magnitude 7.0 Earthquake Shakes Northeastern Region 2

A magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck northeastern Taiwan at 11:05 p.m. on Saturday, December 27. The epicenter was offshore, about 32.3 kilometers east of Yilan County Hall at a depth of 72.8 km, affecting 17 cities. This video shows that the tiles on the pillar were shaken off and fell during the earthquake.

Argentina: Flash Flooding Paralyzes Buenos Aires After Intense Storm

A sudden and violent storm struck Buenos Aires and the surrounding metropolitan area on Tuesday afternoon, December 23, triggering severe flash flooding after a day of extreme heat. Up to 80 millimeters of rain fell in under an hour in some areas, submerging cars, flooding streets, and paralyzing major routes including the Pan-American Highway and General Paz Avenue. At least 30 people were rescued from trapped vehicles, while emergency services received hundreds of calls. The Unicenter shopping mall in Martínez was evacuated as images of the flooding spread rapidly on social media.

A video from December 7, 2025, in Fushun, Liaoning, shows residents rescuing a young man who fell through thin ice into freezing water. One man carefully crawled across the ice to pass him a rope, and with help from others, they pulled him to safety as onlookers watched anxiously.

US: Icy Roads After Snowfall Across Pennsylvania, Hazardous Travel Issued

The snow that fell Saturday night into Sunday, December 14, in central Pennsylvania partially thawed during the day but refroze as temperatures dropped in the afternoon and evening. Due to the resulting possibility of hazardous travel on Sunday night, December 14 and Monday morning, December 15, there is a possibility that classes in central Pa. could be delayed by one or two hours.
