During the festival, hosted by the Roudaki Artistic Cultural Foundation, over 130 plays were performed in 12 different sections. The street theaters were also staged in seven outdoor areas across Tehran during the festival that lasted from Jan. 21 to Feb. 1. Out of the 160 nominated artists, 90 received their awards during the ceremony. The festival is annually held to mark the anniversary of Iran's 1979 Islamic revolution.
