Jan Fencl, former Social Democrat agriculture minister in Milos Zeman's cabinet in 1998-2002. After the 1989 fall of the communist regime, he shortly headed two Moravian farming cooperatives and then focused on building non-government agricultural institutions. Before becoming a minister, he headed the Association of farming cooperatives and firms, and also the Bohemian-Moravian Agrarian Confederation.
