A magnitude 5.8 earthquake struck near Marmaris in Muğla Province, southwestern Turkey, at 2:17 a.m. local time on Tuesday, June 3. The tremor was felt in many provinces, including İzmir, Aydın, Denizli, Manisa, and Antalya. Officials reported that a 14-year-old girl died in Fethiye, and more than 60 people were injured.
