Fifteen tons of turmeric powder was imported from Vietnam and brought to the Nepali capital of Kathmandu on the day via the Tianjin port in north China and the Zhangmu-Tatopani border point. TOYAMA, Japan - Fifteen tons of water gush out each second from Kurobe Dam in the upper reaches of Kurobe River on June 26 as Kansai Electric Power Co., operators of Japan's largest arched dam, started releasing water from the dam to replenish the lower reaches of the river during the dry summer season. Since 1961, Kansai Electric has turned the artificial water fall in scenic Mt. Tateyama into a sightseeing spectacle. The daily water release program will run through Oct. 15.
