Football: Japan national team's record scorer Kamamoto dies at 81

Former Japan striker Kunishige Kamamoto (R) shakes hands with German football legend Franz Beckenbauer at a hotel in Tokyo in July 1991. Kamamoto, widely regarded as the best striker in Japanese football history after scoring an all-time men's record 75 goals in 76 games, died on Aug. 10, 2025, aged 81.
