Alps Alpine is developing car-sharing related systems, and in July formed a comprehensive alliance with Freebit, a provider of various Internet-based services, for technical cooperation in the development of services and new products. As car sharing becomes more widespread, the performance requirements for automobiles will change, and electronic component companies are also looking at high durability products. Alps Alpine is advocating a "seamless smart mobility life" that supports the entire process before, during, and after the ride, until the vehicle reaches its destination. The service is expected to start as early as the end of fiscal year 2019. Nobuhiko Yoneya, Vice President of Alpine, said, "We are developing various complementary technologies and verifying the service.
