Piano damaged by A-bomb to travel across Japan for concert

Tomie Futakuchi, head of a Hiroshima-based peace organization called the Hope Project, speaks at a press conference in Hiroshima on June 20, 2019, about a planned concert featuring a piano damaged by the 1945 U.S. atomic bombing in the western Japan city. A ship will depart from Osaka on Aug. 4 and stop in 10 cities -- eight in Japan, Busan in South Korea and Vladivostok in Russia -- with the piano, originally owned by 19-year-old A-bomb victim Akiko Kawamoto, being played as part of a performance on board. The ship eventually arrives in Kobe on Aug. 23. (Kyodo) ==Kyodo
