Annual strength event at Kyoto's Gaigoji

KYOTO, Japan - A woman tries to lift 90-kilogram rice cakes during an annual event at Daigoji Temple in Kyoto's Fushimi Ward on Feb. 23. A total of 45 men and women competed on how long they could keep holding up the rice cakes in the event, which has a history of more than 400 years.
