Spain: Wildfire Near La Bisbal d’Empordà Forces Thousands to Shelter in Place 2

A wildfire that broke out near La Bisbal d'Empordà in the Baix Empordà region of Catalonia, Spain, on Friday, July 3, has burned over 2,300 hectares and eight houses in the area. Authorities lifted shelter-in-place orders for around 12,000 residents on Sunday after the fire was stabilized.

A wildfire broke out near La Bisbal d'Empordà in the Baix Empordà region of Catalonia, Spain, on Friday, July 3, driven by strong winds. Around 9,700 residents across several municipalities were ordered to shelter in place, with the fire burning over 2,300 hectares and remaining out of control.
