The information was given by the federal minister for new and renewable energy and power R. K. Singh in written replies in the upper house of the Indian parliament. The minister said the estimate has been provided by the National Institute of Solar Energy based on data from Waste Land Atlas of India 2010. Singh said until the end of last year, 51 solar parks with an aggregate capacity of 37,740 MW have been sanctioned in 12 states in the country since the launch of the scheme in December 2014. Isuzu releases trucks complying with new clean air regulations

TOKYO, Japan - Isuzu Motors Ltd. released new models of its Giga heavy-duty (in photo) and Forward midsize truck series that comply with Japan's new clean air regulations on May 17, 2010. The new regulations require a 65 percent cut in nitrogen oxide emissions and a 63 percent reduction in particulate matter emissions compared with the previous regulations for 3.5-ton and larger trucks.

TOKYO, Japan - Sony Corp. said Jan. 14 it will launch the world's thinnest music-playing device in April. The card-size Giga pavit HZ-WS2000 is 10.6 millimeters thick and weighs 68 grams, making it the world's thinnest and lightest music player with a hard disk drive, Sony said.

Sanyo's 'world's smallest, lightest' high-vision movie camera

OSAKA, Japan - Sanyo Electric Co. has released what it claims to be the world's smallest and lightest full high-vision digital movie camera DMX-HD100, which the company says can record 43 minutes of full high-vision video on a 4-gigabyte SD memory card. The price tag, not including the 4-giga memory card, is set at around 120,000 yen. The camera will be on sale in Japan in mid-September. (Kyodo)
