Greece: Two Minors Arrested For Alleged Arson In Terpsithea

A large fire broke out in a forest area in Terpsithea of Glyfada on Monday, August 12. According to the Arson Crimes Response Directorate (D.A.E.E.), two 14-year-olds were arrested on suspicion of arson in connection with the fire. The fire was quickly brought under control with the help of drones and thermal cameras.

Fanned by strong winds, the flames spread quickly across the foothills of Mount Hymettus in Glyfada and Voula regions, posing threat to inhabited areas. The Civil Protection service issued an emergency 112 alert to residents of neighboring areas, urging them to evacuate their houses.
