China: Drone Malfunction Sparks Fire at National Day Celebration

During China’s National Day on October 2, 2025, in Liuyang, Hunan, a drone used to launch fireworks malfunctioned, causing sparks to fall near spectators and ignite a small hillside fire. Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control within about a minute, preventing further spread, while onlookers backed away from the flickering flames.
