KURASHIKI, Japan - British Ambassador to Japan Stephen Gomersall (R) presents a British government letter of appreciation to Takashi Nagase, 84, for his postwar role in helping former British prisoners of war (POWs) reach a reconciliation with Japan, in Okayama Prefecture on April 5. Nagase served as a Japanese military interpreter during World War II.
