Philippine NSC backs military drills with U.S.

MANILA, Philippines - Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo (C), along with Vice President and Foreign Secretary Teofisto Guingona (L) and former President Corazon Aquino (R), attends the National Security Council (NSC) in the Malacanang Palace in Manila on Jan. 23. The NSC reached a consensus to support joint counterterrorism training exercises by U.S. and Philippine troops in the southern Philippines.
