Haicai Qiang, or "seaweed tune," is a primitive folk tune created by people of Yi ethnic group, who live around the picturesque Yilong Lake in southwest China's Yunnan province. This special art got its name from a kind of aquatic plant growing in Yilong Lake, and is known for its wide vocal range, pleasant melody and indigenous lyrics.
