The Suzhou River Tourism Water Route aims at creating an overwater attraction rich in Haipai culture, which refers to the avant-garde but unique "East Meets West" culture from Shanghai that emerged in the 20th century. The first phase of the route, which opened for trial operation in September, is about 17 kilometers long. The journey lasts about two hours.
