NEW YORK, United States - Japan's Ai Sugiyama (C) and Julie Halard-Decugis of France (L) hoist the champions' trophy after winning the women's doubles title at the U.S. Open tennis championships on Sept. 10. After being defeated three weeks earlier in Los Angeles by Kazakh Irina Selyutina and partner Tina Krizan of Slovenia, Sugiyama of Japan and her French partner Halard-Decugis gained revenge by eliminating their foes 6-3, 6-3.

LONDON - Japan's Ai Sugiyama and French partner Julie Halard-Decugis are all smiles after a semifinal victory in the women's doubles event July 7 at the Wimbledon tennis championships. The fourth-seeded pair defeated Lisa Raymond of the United Sates and Australian Rennae Stubbs 3-6, 7-5, 6-2 and will face the Williams sisters, Venus and Serena, in the championship final Sunday.
