TOKYO, Japan - A woman in kimono shows off six sets of ''kawari-bina'' dolls depicting figures and themes that were this year's newsmakers, unveiled by traditional doll maker Tougyoku at a Tokyo hotel Dec. 10, 2009. The figures and themes, which included Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama who took office this fall and his wife Miyuki, teenage golf star Ryo Ishikawa, and the new flu, were selected by votes from the public.
