US: Smoke From Pickett Fire Blankets Sky in Napa County

The Pickett Fire, a fast-growing wildfire, erupted in Napa County, Northern California, on Thursday, August 21, burning more than 6,500 acres by Sunday. Evacuation orders and warnings remained in effect and over 300 residents were without power. This video, filmed on Friday, shows smoke from the fire covering the sky in Calistoga.

Spain: Forest Fire Breaks Out Near Granada City, Forcing Highway Closure 3

A forest fire broke out late Saturday, August 23, near the Fuente de la Bicha area between Granada city and Cenes de la Vega. The blaze produced a large smoke column visible across the city and forced the temporary closure of the A-395 highway. According to officials, firefighters have stabilized the fire, which is no longer spreading with active fronts.
