This morning, the maritime rescue helicopter, Helimer, based in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, located a cayuco 35 nautical miles off the island of El Hierro. The Tenerife CCS activated the SSMM vessel, Salvamar Acrux, which managed to rescue 165 migrants, including 20 women and 2 small children, who were transferred to the port of La Restinga where they were disembarked.
